Engineering → Entrepreneurship → Institution Building
Humans of PSG | R. Srinivasan
From Electrical Engineering at PSG to building a global technology enterprise.
R. Srinivasan’s journey is a story of entrepreneurship, institution building, and a lifelong commitment to education and culture.
An electrical engineering graduate, Srinivasan went on to earn his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. His early career took him through diverse experiences, including working with Reader’s Digest, The Coca-Cola Company, and a leading textile company in Indonesia.
In 1993, he co-founded Redington, starting a journey that would transform a technology distribution business into a major global technology supply-chain organization.
What began with distributing IT products in India gradually expanded across geographies and technology segments—including telecom, logistics, cloud, cybersecurity, and other digital technologies.
The journey reflects an important entrepreneurial lesson:
Great companies are not built overnight. They evolve by continuously expanding their capabilities, relationships, and vision.
Beyond business, Srinivasan has contributed to education and the arts. He is the Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University Chennai, is associated with the SSN Institutions, serves on corporate boards, and contributes to institutions such as the Music Academy, Chennai, and Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School.
His journey connects three worlds:
Engineering → Entrepreneurship → Institution Building
From an engineering education to global business leadership, his story is a reminder of the possibilities that can emerge when knowledge is combined with curiosity, perseverance, and a long-term vision.
A PSG journey that grew far beyond a career—and became a contribution to business, education, and society.
